Using the Filters
The Eras & Families Filters
The Eras Filter
- Eras are a series of time periods: Pre 1600, 1600-1699, 1700-1799, 1800-1899, 1900-1949.
- The Eras Filter allows you to limit filter results to a single time period and thus find material of interest more quickly.
The Families Filter
- The Families Filter allows you to select any family within a Root Family (collection of families) and have listed all posts available for that family.
Use the filters together or separately
- The eras filter and the family filter can be used together or separately.
- Together: choose an era, then a family and the listed posts will be those relevant to that family which occurred during that era.
- Separately: choose one era but no family and listed will be all posts relevant to ALL families of the Root Family you are in which occurred during that era.
- Separately: choose one family but no era and the posts listed will be all posts relevant to that family across all eras.
The Media & History Filters
- These filters work independently.
- With the Media Filter, select a kind of media (audio, multimedia, e-book) and you will see listed all media posts of that kind across all eras for the Root Family you are in.
- The History Filter works in the same way.
