About the 'Peoples' Images

Images not representative

You'll notice that the images do not always represent the region of peoples named or any particular culture. Apologies. Our stock of images is limited. In time, we hope to right that by visiting and photographing in every region.

To those photographed

These images and those in 'Gallery' were taken at the North American Indigenous Games in August, 2008. Congratulations to the Cowichan Tribes of Duncan, BC, Canada for their magnificent job hosting of the games.

The images were taken candidly in fast-moving conditions. It was not possible to obtain releases for the thousands of photos taken.

If you see yourself or a minor in your care in these photos (or elsewhere on this site) and do not wish to have that image on the site, please send us an email or call and we will remove the image immediately. We assure you, the decision to include these images was done with the greatest of respect. No harm was intended. We treasure each and every one.

If you see your image on this site and choose to keep it here, we are very grateful. Thank you. Please send us your name and address and we will send you a copy.

What do you think?

We chose these photos because we felt they invoked the strength, will, hope, spirit, sense of community and unlimited potential of indigenous peoples today.

What do you think of these images and of the value of having images like these on the website? Let us know in 'Rate Us.'
