Features
The Nature of SOAR ProTraining
Whole-Community Inclusion
SOAR ProTraining engages the whole community in the change effort
Low Monthly Fees
One low monthly fee gives you access to all SOAR ProTraining courses in your chosen pathway (program)
No Schedule
Most SOAR ProTraining courses have no schedule. You can start a course when you want and take as long as you want
Web-based
Audio-visual courses are streamed to your training space over the
internet
Dual Focus
SOAR ProTraining addresses both personal and community development. It focuses on changes to the way people think, feel and behave (personal) as well as changes to administrative structures, processes and resources (community).
Ease In
Not sure you're ready to commit to deep, whole-community change? Decide later. Start with single courses that seem useful or sign up for SOAR First Light, a much shortened 'results now' version of the longer SOAR Advantage
Indigenous Design
SOAR ProTraining is designed for indigenous folks. Events are highly social, action-focused, easily digestible, short on lecture and long on fun. As well, we encourage you to add in cultural elements - prayer, ceremonies, traditions, events - to make it your own
Principles and Strengths Based
SOAR does not focus on problems. Instead, it asks participants to identify the principles which will govern the redesign of their community, then build from their present strengths to explore principles-compatible possibilities
Modular Format
Training is packaged in 90 minute courses that can be mixed and matched to fit your needs and time constraints
Step by Step Process
SOAR links all the courses together into one comprehensive development process that you can use as is or change to suit
Support Through Change
New Earth Village will keep your change process humming with occasional live webinars, community development tips, a newsletter and, when you need it, advice from New Earth Village staff and members
Action-Focused
SOAR keeps the focus on what communities can do right now with existing resources
Social
Courses are largely group workshops with a heavy emphasis on discussion, exercises and community-based action.
Partners
SOAR uses a team-based process that encourages partnering within and beyond the community
Quick-Win Targets
Early change efforts are directed at 'low hanging fruit,' initiatives that can bring visible and meaningful results in the short term, building momentum for change
