Learning Centre for Shenali

Looking for ideas
Shenali is a community of 1300 people in rural South Dakota, USA. Carl’s task as Education Coordinator is to improve education in his community. When he joined New Earth Village he asked talking circle participants for ideas. They directed him to WhoWhat Pot in Advisor.
Bingo
There he found several ideas he thought might work. Council was enthusiastic about one of the ideas - a learning centre and asked Carl to explore it further. Thanks to the help of three New Earth Village members with learning centre experience, it was only four months before the Shenali Learning Centre was open for business three days a week.
The Point:
Sharing ideas and labour across a large number of people (as in New Earth Village) leads to more innovative solutions and more rapid change.
